 Gathering Place

The Gathering Place for Tulsa is located along Riverside Drive in Tulsa, Ok. The project consisted of 4 different building, each with it's own special glazing features. Advantage Glass was able to complete this project in under 12 months. The project was completed on time, under budget, and with zero lost time accidents. This project was complete with the coordination between glazing contractor (Advantage Glass), General Contractor (Crossland Construction), Architects (MSME), and numerous other trades.

Each building had unique glazing features incorporated by the architect including the following:

The Cabana   utilized 550 square feet of center set exterior Storefront framing by YKK painted Bone White with 8 feet tall entry doors. Custom laminated glass fabricated by TriStar Glass was created to match the storefront framing system installed by Advantage Glass. The oversized 1 1/4 inch laminated insulted glass has a make-up of Low Iron, ultra-clear, Starphire glass and white laminate intrelayers installed by Advantage Glass.

The Maintenance Building   utilized 720 square feet of center set exterior Storefront and 124 square feet interior Storefront framing by YKK in a clear anodized finish with 8 feet tall entry doors. The high thermal performance exterior glass installed has a Low-E coating of SolarBan 60 fabricated by TriStar Glass and installed by Advantage Glass.

The Boat House utilized 5,900 square feet of 2 and 4 sided structurally glazed Curtain Wall framing by YKK in a clear anodized finish with custom entry doors ranging for 8 and 9 feet tall. the 750 square feet of interior center set storefront framing was glazed with large 1/2 inch clear tempered glass and 8 feet tall doors. This system was directly fastened to the structural steel framing, creating the exterior wall for The Lodge. The exterior high performance glass installed consisted of oversized insulated glass 1 1/4' inches thick with Low-E coating SolarBan 70XL fabricated by TriStar Glass. The 7 pairs of exterior Entice doors were custom created for this project by U.S. Aluminum/CR Laurence. These doors were both oversized in width (over 6 feet wide) and also in height (over 10 feet tall). These doors had to be custom fabricated and engineered to meet the design intent of the architect. These doors all were equipped with custom hardware to accommodate the overall size of  these doors. They also utilized the high performance insulated glass consisting of Low- E coating SolarBan 70XL. The interior All Glass doors were custom fabricated by Old Castle Building Envelope and installed by Advantage Glass. Oklahoma State University Institute of Technology,
Okmulgee

OSU recently renovated the Grand Old Post Office in historic downtown Okmulgee to create new student housing. To uphold the original features of the 1918 design the architect utilized 2" x 4 1/2" center set storefront by YKK, and 7 1/2" deep curtainwall also by YKK. Over 20,000 sq/ft of unique glass types including one inch SolarBan 60 insulated glass units, 1/4" Acid etched tempered glass, and 1/4" brogue glass.

The architectural design integrated YKK's center set storefront that blends with the reconditioned single hung windows of the original build. 1/4" clear tempered glass was used to replace old annealed glass that was broken or stained. Two steel skylights that were pulled from the roof during the demo phase, were reconditioned, re-glazed and hung from the ceiling by aircraft cable to create chandleries. This design created by the architect displayed the ongoing theme of building of keeping the old historic features.

With the efforts of Flinco/Oakridge General Contracting and its subcontractors working together, and the project was delivered on time, thus allowing the owners to begin enjoying their new facility. This building will continue to shine for Oklahoma State University and the Okmulgee community for many more years.
